Silwood Science Park is to be developed as a world class centre of excellence for growing research led companies. The new HQ building at the heart of the park is designed to be a sustainable exemplar. The park will also benefit from an architect designed pavilion cafe as a focus and meeting point and social area. The stunning wooded grounds will be further enhanced to provide the highest quality of public realm space with a green square at its heart.
It is proposed that the building accommodation will be split approximately 70:30 between office and laboratory. The design is organised by function with separate office and laboratory wings separated by the core and central atrium. The entrance is to be located centrally facing the green square with a design intended to maximise the views out to the surrounding mature woodlands and green amenity space.
Floor to ceiling heights of 4.3 m are provided for each level to allow sufficient service zones to laboratory areas.
